You can't put bigger valves in....chamber shrouding is already a problem with the 1.78/1.45. 1.84's will almost touch the chamber wall and/or the dip in the heart. They were designed (my guess anyway) for a faster burn...which is probably why a friend's Mustang always had pinging problems with more than 12 deg ... The spark plug is at like a 45 degree angle, around a nub, and pointed directly at the exhaust valve. It's like the spark is hidden from the intake valve. Someone must have cracked a head or something and changed before I got the motor.
